Casa Studio is a small-batch ceramics studio based in Hamilton, Ontario, led by the creative partnership of painter Jasmine Cardenas and potter Colin Mummery. All pieces are designed, crafted, and fired in their home studio, where their practice is grounded in experimentation and a deep exploration of the materiality of clay. Casa Studio uses traditional inlay and wheel-throwing techniques to blend contrasting coloured and recycled clays, creating marbled and pattered surfaces. These surfaces are then transformed into functional objects and sculptures. Whether tinting clays, creating organic forms, or producing large-scale wall installations, their work is defined by a tactile approach to collaging with clay and a commitment to blending art with functionality.
